Lunch And Learn
Revision r1.1 - 12 May 2004 - 17:41 GMT - PhlIpOur user interface at Environmental Software was >70 different kinds of views, with >20 scientific features on each one. Our documentrix dealt using a most cunning technique.
She would schedule a lunch interview with each engineer, and ask what kind of hoagie they wanted.
While I grooved on veggie with cheese and avocado, she exploited the carbohydrate buzz to ask hard questions. She'd write down the answers while I chewed.
This technique trained engineers to salivate like Pavlovian Pooches when the managers announced the documentors would be around in a few days. Much better than the usual groaning, moaning, and sudden sick-days.
